If you are a tourist, STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!
The hotel is on a road with like eight other hotels with the same style to them(red flag!!). The room we booked was a decent size however, there is visible mold behind the door. The sound insulation in this building is HORRIBLE, nothing is better than being awoken by someone arguing in the room next to yours. There is also some underground club across the street that plays loud music at night and is super annoying.
The Room:
The door for the hotel is NOT secure enough, it is so light and can easily be broken down with enough force, there was also a two-inch gap at the bottom of the door and you would hear EVERYTHING and see light from the hallway.
The Beds:
It was as if I was sleeping on cardboard, the mattress and box-spring underneath were so worn that I was sleeping in the shape of the letter ' V ' my rear end was practically touching the ground. The pillows were overstuffed and super uncomfortable.
The Washroom:
Literally unusable when we arrived, the toilet did not have buttons on it to flush("Maintenance" needed to come) and the lighting in the washroom was very bad. The sink was not properly secured to the wall as well. The shower drain was also very poor. Some of the branded soap was literally from the hotel down the street...
The Location:
As a tourist trying to explore Mersin, this area and the hotels in it is the WORST place to be. It is about a 20minute walk to the sea, and also a 20+ minute walk to get to anything remotely interesting to do. It is too far from anything worth seeing/doing in Mersin.
Overall:
Stay away from this hotel and surrounding ones, do not be fooled by the photos. Getting closer to the center of the city is worth the price increase.
This Hotel was both welcoming and accommodating and they made us a good breakfast that suited our dietary needs.
The Room was good as was the Breakfast but most of all it was the helful and friendly staff that made my stay
special. IF I visit Mersin again I wiil head here. stsyed 3 nights in Nov 22

A very nice budget hotel, with very pleasant helpful staff. Yes it is a the docks end of town but a cheap 15 minute taxi ride will get you to all the restaurants non the front.
Very basic. In an area filled with empty hotels because the main bus station, which used to be situated close, has since been moved. Sadly business is hard now for these hotels that used to be in a good location. If price and budget is your thing this hotel would still be OK.
I am a tourist, I have seen many cities of Turkey and stayed in many hotels, I am familiar with the culture of different cities... I hope this comment does not upset the good people of Mersin, but I must say that Mersin is in a disastrous situation in terms of public culture and human behavior. I hope the city's cultural custodians, especially the mayor, will take care of public culture and the behavior of citizens. In this regard, I will write a letter to the governor of Mersin. If it wasn't for the friendly and good behavior of the people of Diyarbakir, we would have left Turkey with bad memories. Grand Mardini Hotel was not a suitable hotel for staying, contrary to our imagination, I do not recommend it at all.
Rooms are old and somewhat broken, but workers of the hotel are great!
I stayed only for 1 night but I had a great time in this hotel. Hotel is cheap but standard is high (I have never stay in this sort of place for such a littel money). My room was big and beautiful . Everything is clean. Breakfast was nice- especially for the price!!! People working in this hotel are very friendly- they let me leave my bag for few hours (free of charge) they call me a taxi to the big bus station which was pretty far away but taxi wasn't expensive. They even call to the station to reserve ticket for me :) that's amazing how fantastic people can be to each other :) just to make this clear - I was on the low budget trip- I didn't spend much money in this hotel but anyway they treated me so nicely!!!!!
